The Trailer division was established to concentrate on supplying keruing decks to trailer manufacturers and repairers. We offer a specialist service uniting our 130 years of timber expertise with our unparalleled craftsmanship.  We have built up a strong relationships with the major Trailer companies over the decades by machining difficult profiles.  We are experienced and renowned in the timber trade for our ability to machine up to 150 x 300 (6ft x 12ft) 11 mtrs (36ft).

We produce ‘Kit Format” for trailers. Characterised by the easy “jigsaw-fit” design, our kit system has been adopted by most of the leading trailer manufacturers.  Nowadays most leading manufacturers recognize the Kit system as saving time and money whilst at the same time increasing production.

Roger Haydock runs the only mill in the UK with the ability to produce bespoke kits. ½ lap Keruing is produced  ex .1 x 6 / 1 ¼ x 6 / 1½ x 6 / 1¼ x 7 / 2 x 6 / 1¼ x 8. Any profile can be machined on site. Other timbers are also available (Kapur, Balau and Dark Red Meranti). Laminate flooring can also be re-machined to suit individual needs. Tie Rails for vans in either softwood or hardwood are a specialty.

The Products

Keruing Kit Floors
Roger Haydock & Co Ltd are specialists in made-to-measure wooden floors in a variety of species. These kit-floors are manufactured to the exact size of the trailer deck and are numbered for simplicity/ease of assembly.

With this floor kit, cutting of timber is not necessary. Some advantages of this ready-made floor kit:

• 240g/m2 non slip wire mesh faced plywood

• Reverse 120b/m2 smooth reverse edge sealed
  Grade A quality
  WBP (Weather & Boil Proof) Adhesive

Our phenolic mesh faced plywood is manufactured with Birch only veneers, commonly regarded as Birch throughout.
As with film faced plywood, the veneers are bonded with phenolic weather and boil proof glue lines throughout. The mesh face is produced with a heavier weight of phenolic film pressed with a mesh pattern to create a slip resistant surface; ideal for Truck Flooring.

Film Faced Reverse:
The smooth film face on the reverse provides protection from damp environments
Base Board Birch Plywood made solely from Birch (hardwood) veneers bonded together in a cross banded construction.

Surface & Edges Face & reverse:
Dark Brown phenolic film 120g/m2 or 240/m2. Edge sealing; two coats of water resistant paint.

Panel Size:
Standard panel sizes: 1220/2440/2500mm
Special sizes: 1500/1525 x 3000/3050/3600/3660mm
Cut sizes at customer’s request
Size Tolerance: +/- 0.5mm per metre
Squareness tolerance +/- 0.5mm per metre length of diagonal.

Laminated Boards:
Strict quality control ensures that several species of Hardwood can be jointed together, glued and machined 2 faces to create a laminated plank. Each Board is graded, cut to size and profiled to specific specifications as required by customers

Advantages:
KIT-FORM for specific flooring size (width, length, profile) can be designed, manufactured and supplied for individual buyers Truck, Trailer or Container requirements.
READY TO USE separately packed kit-form for specific floors can be easily incorporated into Truck, Trailer and container manufacturing line.

Board Lengths Up to 45 ft (13.72M)
Profiles Boards machined to buyer’s requirement. A typical 1-1/8” x 12” (28mm x 305mm) Centre Board with ½ shiplap and 1/16” crusher bead.

Adhesive used MELURAC 400 (melamine urea formaldehyde glue) + HF200 (Hardener) manufactured by CYTEC INDUSTRIES INC USA. (formerly American CYNAMID) and imported directly from USA.

Storage Tips:
Truck flooring should be protected from the elements (eg rain) by storing within a building or covered shed. It should also be stacked on level ground using skids to provide good ventilation and to avoid warping.
